All
students, for sanitary reasons, are asked to use their own mat.
Mats can be purchased at the studio or from your own source. We
will provide a loaner mat for first 3 visits and $1 for each
visit thereafter.
Wear
comfortable exercise clothing. Avoid over-sized shirts as they
will get in the way during certain yoga postures.
Leave
coats and shoes outside the yoga room.
Please
come to class at least 5 minutes early to get organized and
settled in. The warm-ups and centering exercises which are done
at the beginning of each class are extremely important. We do
not want you to get injured, nor should the other students be
disturbed by a late student.
Please turn off cell phones and pagers and try to avoid wearing
strong perfumes or lotions (helps prevent sliding on your
mat).
All yoga classes are intended to be in a warm
room to promote supple, relaxed muscles for increased
flexibility. Hot yoga classes may be 90+ degrees.
Yoga is best enjoyed on an empty stomach, so eat lightly
or not at all for 2-3 hours before. Make sure to keep hydrated
by drinking water both before and after class.
Tell your instructor about any injuries. This will help
the instructor know how to adjust you or show you a modified
pose if necessary.
